Jim Marshal is the kind of photographer you don’t want to look at unless you’re working on a documentary or a feature.
He’s also the kind who uses the camera as a way to take snapshots that can then be turned into a video, which is then posted to YouTube or Instagram for others to see.
He also uses the digital camera as an extension of his body, as if it were a living person.
He started his career as a photographer for magazines, and he says that he’s never seen anything like it.
The camera is his tool, and it’s been a part of his life since he was a little kid.
Now, he’s one of the people who’s most able to appreciate the power of the digital medium.
He speaks with Recode about what it’s like to take photographs that are personal and that also help the world understand.
[Recode: I understand] I don’t think anyone understands the power and powerlessness of the camera that much, right?
[Jim Marshal:] Absolutely, but it’s also very, very empowering.
You can see your work as a piece of art, or you can see it as a tool, which means that it can be used for a lot of things.
I’ve used the camera a lot, especially for self-expression.
I was able to get really close to my friends and get really creative, and I was also able to share my photographs with the world.
I think that’s what the camera is about.
[Jim] Marshal was born in Toronto, Canada, and his parents were born in Germany.
His mother was a photographer, his father was a painter.
He had a passion for photography.
He loved to make art, and this is what got him started in photography, and from there, he was able not only to become an expert, but to also make a living out of it.
[Audience laughter] And that’s why he started the Jim Marshals Photography Foundation.
It’s like a photo gallery, but with all the pictures you get from all the cameras.
So, in a way, you’re making money off of that work, but also making a connection to the community.
He does some of the work with people from all walks of life, and is also a part owner of a couple of photographers, as well as a filmmaker.
So you’re talking about a person who’s really making a difference.
[He laughs] The foundation is now looking for a director to take over the project and help create an image gallery for photographers around the world, and that will hopefully help the photographic community and the world at large, as they continue to see the power that these cameras can have in their lives.
[Matt: I see.]
So how did you get started in photojournalism?
[Audiences: It started when I was a kid.]
[Jim: I guess I was doing a lot at home and my mom didn’t want me to do it.
So I was like, “What are you going to do?”
So she gave me a book about photography, called The Camera, which she found in a book store, and she gave it to me and I just went and picked it up.
And I was just like, [Auditors: I saw.]
What are you doing with this?
What do you do with this stuff?
] So I started doing this thing and I started to work in photography and then I was teaching photography at school, and then eventually I got into college and started to take courses, and eventually I was really able to really build a life.
I didn’t have a real job, I didn.
I had a really hard time finding a real home and really doing it.
I thought it was a really easy life, but I guess it was.
And then, when I got to college, it was just a lot easier.
[The audience laughs] It was just really easy to find work, and to have that support.
But I realized that I was still going to have to work hard to have a life, so I kind of started taking more and more time off.
So that was kind of the starting point.
I started taking less time off, but not really much time off from photography, but less time from my family, less time between me and my job.
I dont think I would have made it if I was working full-time.
I would probably have quit sooner or later.
[There’s silence] And then my brother came in and I took a couple classes at university and I got some freelance work and I had that opportunity to travel, and so I started getting more and better work.
And that was it.
And from there I just kind of built a life that I didnt really think was going to last, and when
